Dr. Prero grew up in Chicago and after his own experience in braces he knew he wanted to be an orthodontist. He completed his pre-dental courses at Towson Univeristy in Baltimore, Maryland. Following a passion for education he studied at Loyola University Chicago where he received a Master's Degree in Education . After marrying his wife Naomi, a Beverly Hills native, he moved out to Los Angeles for dental school where graduated from UCLA in 2011. He continued on to complete his residency in Orthodontics at USC, the same program that Dr. Dougherty went to and currently teaches. In addition to his Certificate in Orthodntics Dr. Prero received a Master's of Science in Craniofacial Biology. His thesis was on using 3D Imaging to identify changes that the teeth and roots undergo during treatment.

While at USC he studied under Dr. Dougherty and their relationship blossomed and he joined the practice shortly after graduation.

Throughout his dental training Dr. Prero has been involved different leadership opportunities. He was the President of the Orthodontics Study Club at UCLA, President of the PreDental Committee coordinating mentorship opportunities for undergrad students. He was the Vice President of the Class of 2011 and Vice President of the American Student Dental Association UCLA Chapter.

Dr. Prero has articles published in peer-reviewed journals and has presented his research at national meetings.

Dr. Prero is excited to be part of Dougherty Orthodontics. He says that Dr. Dougherty stellar reputation of handling difficult and simple cases with skill and ease is what sets him apart. Additionally the office has all the cutting edge technology that allows for a high quality of care.

Outside of the office...

Dr. Prero's passions are family, leadership, and community. In his spare time he enjoys his three children Eliana, Alexandra, and David. He serves as cantor for his synagogue weekly and on the High Holidays and teaches Bar-Mitzvah lessons too.
